Somanathapura is also a little known historic place, home to the iconic Chennakeshava Temple, another grand relic of the Hoysala Empire. Because of the splendid architecture, it was declared as a heritage site by the Archaeological Survey of India. Some of the other beautiful temples here are the Talakad Panchalinga Temple and the Mudukuthore Mallikarjuna Temple.
