Also known as Kozhikode, Calicut was the erstwhile capital of the Malabar region and a major centre for the spice trade. Its claim to fame is from the landing of Vasco Da Gama 15kms to the north in Kappad in 1498. It’s also the perfect place to enter Wayanad. Located in the north-east region of Kerala, Wayanad is a predominantly hilly terrain surrounded by Karnataka on the north and Tamil Nadu to the south-east. It completely lies in the green Western Ghats.

Day 02 - Wayanad

Have an early breakfast and leave for Kuruwa Dweep. Kuruwa Island is 955 acres of green forest along the banks of the tributaries of the east flowing Kabini river.
